Our league’s points structure

The evening costs £13 per player, £10 is the stake, which goes into a prize pool for that evening’s tournament and £3 is a table fee to cover the costs of hosting the events. Prize money is distributed to the top finishers that evening, depending on the number of entrants. To comply with the law relating to poker tournaments at a club, the maximum prize pool in any one evening is £250. Should over 25 people compete, any stake money collected over £250 will be either evenly distributed back to competitors or donated to a charity agreed by the participants. A table explaining payouts is shown here.

Our events are structured in such a way that most players should enjoy at least  two and a half hours of play at each event.

Typically there will be around 16-20  competitors at each event.

Phoenix Pub Poker proudly works with UKAPP (UK Amateur Pub Poker) in arranging occasional events that provide the opportunity to play with others from pub venues for reasonable and affordable stakes. These events are always popular, well attended and played in great spirit.

Third Avenue is one road west of Grand Avenue. There’s usually plenty of parking available in Third Avenue or the multi storey car park adjacent to Hove Town Hall. But public transport services the area superbly with many bus services from Brighton and Hove Buses and Stagecoach 700 passing nearby. Some of our players are even more radical and walk or ride a bike to our events.
