James Trotman gets his first victory

AJ against A6 was the last heads up hand of December 10, with James Trotman crushing Milo Lopez when a Jack flopped in the first card and again on the turn. This was only James’s second visit to us, also cashing in his first last week, when he came third. A player to watch. In third was Peter Burdett and Catherine Diffey was our bubble girl.

Ryan Parker’s tactics strike again

Wicked hand is Joe’s comeuppance!

A win for Ryan Tanner on November 26, with Sandie Cresdee and Catherine Diffey sharing the second/third place spoils. Our bubble was Peter Metcalfe, who won the Autumn League. No winner photo, I forgot, but the hand of the evening was Joe’s comeuppance! Ryan Tanner pushed all in with KK and hot running Joe Winter called with 89 off suit. A dream full house 889 flop was great for Joe until a king on the river spoilt his party.

In addition to winning the Overall League, Peter Metcalfe won the Grand Masters’ title, with Kit Hinton taking the Inbetweeners’ and Ryan Tanner the Young Pretenders’.

Joe Winter was our top assassin, with 25 kills and he also won the most money, £220. He also was our Shift Worker champion, getting more league points in his first six events of the season. The tables are here.

December 3 saw yet another win for Ryan, a few weeks after his return to our tables (which also bagged a first place).

The heads up was a brief affair of about six hands against Rosario Graziano with third going to new player, David Trotman.

Our bubble girl was Max Brown.

Ryan’s aggresive raising strategy put him in good stead from the start, but he needed to dig deep in the early phase of tp table to stay in the running.

We’ve waited a long time for it, but Tim Kent, occasional Phoenix Pub Poker player, has released a video of his poker song on YouTube. The song writer and guitarist’s number can be seen at Will it be Christmas Number One?
