July 2019 news

David wins in his first trip to The Avenue

David Morgan-Bradley took top spot on July 29 after a brief heads up against Dan Bruncak. In third was Nick Jeffery and fourth, also on her first night, Sarah Shelley. The winner of the Terry’s Chocolate Orange for busting out Louis Mockett (a roll over from last week) was Kathy Pitt.

Even four way split of £210 pot

Possibly our oldest ever winner celebrated this evening (July 23) with a four way even chop. Ninety three year old Bob Davidson shared the spoils with his daughter Jane Davidson, Jim Richardson and Louis Mockett. The Terry’s chocolate Orange that Louis put on his own head to bust him out rolls over to next week. That’s if the chess players don’t find it in the cabinet first!

AJ comes good for Ryan Tanner

July 15 saw 20 players do battle, with Ryan Tanner winning £80 for first, Sandie Cresdee £60 for second, Catherine Diffey £40 for third and Milo Lopez £20 for fourth. Our bubble was Peter Burdett. Ryan had a barnstorming night with nine kills.

A battle of twenty two runners

Kit Hinton has zoomed into the league lead after arranging a three way deal at top table between him, Orlando Lopez and Billy Goldsmith, taking £66 each after Sam Beaumont exited fourth with a £22 prize. Our bubble was Sam Clements. Kit opted to lay hi season’s joker on July 8.

It was a first win for Billy Goldsmith, well deserved in a highly competitive field.

Will Coombe and Peter Burdett share win

The Bonus Points night of July 1 saw 19 players do battle with Peter and Will doing a deal when equity was reached in the heads up battle. Both took home £67.50 for their efforts. Sam Oversock Beaumont was second, winning £38 and Kit Hinton fourth with £19. Our buble was four way in one hand with Sam Beaumont busting Dan Bruncak, Sandie Cresdee and Jonno Vulture Cook in an efficient assasination move. This takes Peter Burdett to the top of our league! Will sanity ever return?
