The pie chart above indicates the strength of games overall this season. It measures the quartile finish in each tournament. In a sixteen player event, a player finishing in the top four would be in Quartile 1, fifth to eighth Quartile 2, ninth to twelfth in Quartile 3 and thirteenth to sixteenth in Quartile 4.

Pie charts for the season of regular competitors can be found here.

Greg The Buddha Harrington won the Phoenix Pub Poker Overall Spring 2013 season. No mean achievement as he missed the first two weeks through illness.

A couple of wins in week three put him in pole position for all but one day, although Warwick Hart gave him a real run for his money throughout.

It all went down to the final game of the season at the Poets’ Corner on May 30, 2013. Greg, a fraction ahead, could be caught and Warwick made a strong start, contrary to Greg’s early add on. But a Warwick’s reraise with JJ slammed into James Winfield’s QQ before the top table and the season went to Greg.

The performance chart below shows that Greg finished in the top quartile of players in nearly half of the tournaments. This was his secret of success.

League runner up, Warwick Hart, got two significant consolation prizes for the season, the Most Tournament Victories Trophy and the Assassins’ Trophy. This is the first time that the latter prize has gone to a player other than Rob The Hitman Scott.

Warwick also won Thursday’s league at The Poets’ Corner.

Well played for participating in such great spirit throughout the season. And hard luck with those jacks.

League newcomer Karl Gillingham made plenty of waves with three victories in his first few games. Karl went on to become the leagues’ highest rated player in terms of points per game. Karl won three out of his ten events, no mean achievement. See here how player rating is calculated.
