Assassins Table Autumn 2013

Sam Oversock Beaumont took the Overall League in the last few games of the Autumn Season with a white hot series of victories. Never before in the history of Phoenix Pub Poker has a single player won three of the four main league trophies, most points, most wins and highest kills.

Chloe The Reaper Putman made the early running in the season, but had to be content with second place.

And to wrestle the Assassin Trophy from the almost permanent grasp of Rob the Hitman Scott was perhaps her sweetest prize.

Joe Slaphead Winter made a gallant attempt at the Tournament Victories Trophy, but some strategic errors in his top table play meant that the prize drifted away.

Sam’s achievements were all the more impressive as her shift work patterns means regular absences.

Sam’s Grand Slam season

Pavel Matty Matysek was the league’s highest rated player, never missing top table in any of his tournaments, getting three vistories en route and coming in the top three in seven of those events.

Pavel learnt his pub poker over many years in the Czech Republic and certainly proved to be a worthy opponent.

The pie chart above indicates the strength of games overall this season. It measures the quartile finish in each tournament. In a sixteen player event, a player finishing in the top four would be in Quartile 1, fifth to eighth Quartile 2, ninth to twelfth in Quartile 3 and thirteenth to sixteenth in Quartile 4.

Pie charts for the season of regular competitors can be found here.
